R U 16?
So you can’t wait to get behind the wheel to start driving and your 17th birthday seems like a distant dream? Does this sound familiar?
Welcome to RU16?
You can start to learn to drive at any age, it’s just that you can’t drive on the public highway until you have a provisional driving license and you’re aged 17 or over (or 16 if you receive the higher rate of Disability Living Allowance).
This means that before your 17th birthday you can start to take lessons on private land to help you to start to master the controls and handling of the car before your first ‘on road’ lesson. In many ways lots of people find this training very beneficial, as when they go onto the road for the first time they’re confident in the basics of car control, moving off and stopping etc.
If you would like to take advantage of some lessons before you reach your 17th birthday, please contact me using the details on my contact page, or fill out one of my online enquiry forms here.
