About Me
I have decided to create my own driving school as I feel that I can give a much greater level of tuition and customer service when I can manage my business and time myself. My personal experience of learning to drive was not great and I'm determined to make learning or extra training fun and informative for trainer and trainee alike.
I'm 30 years old and I have been driving for over 13 years and I believe that the best way to learn is with a calm and confident instructor who knows what it feels like to be in your position - it wasn't really that long ago that I was a learner too!
I am very passionate about driving and cars in general. I've always loved to drive and I've also really enjoyed training people in other jobs that I have done. It just seemed a natural progression to put the two together and become a DSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).
For those of you who may be interested, to become an ADI there were 3 tests that I had to take and pass. First, an extended theory and hazard perception test, second a test of my driving ability and third a test of my instructional capabilities. The DSA regularly check the standards of all registered ADI's and you must pass this check to remain an ADI.

Just for anyone who may be interested, I've also put a small potted history of the cars I've owned previously. As you can see I've always loved driving, although my first car choice was a little difficult - it was still a 1.3ltr though!!
My first car!! My Metro Clubman L 1.3 ltr (I loved it dearly) but not as much as......
|
My Second Car, my Peugeot 106 GTi - Diablo Red, the best colour. Both my husband and I still wish we never sold it. What an amazing car. I could only have this as I was really careful in my first 3 years of driving so I could afford the insurance! |
My Third Car, my MINI Cooper. Ok, I'll admit it, I've always loved the look of both the classic and modern Mini's and now I can say I've owned one. Trouble was (even though it had every option possible) - it was not a Cooper S, and coming from a GTi into this was a bit of a let down. Well built and safe though (totally opposite to the 106). |
My Fourth and final pre-driving-school car, my Honda Civic Type-R. Yes, yes - one extreme to the other. My civic didn't even have air conditioning but damn it was fast. Everyone should say they've at least driven one of these in their lifetime. What an amazing machine. Unfortunately, its not the most sympathetic car to teach people to drive in, so it had to be swapped for my Renault Clio. |
My trusty Renault Clio - my first ever learner car. It was a 1.6 petrol 'initiale' which means it came with everything - climate control, cruise control, xenon headlights etc etc Reliable, fun to drive and cheap to run - everything that anyone would really want. Reason I sold it? Clutch wasn't very easy and it had done 52,000 miles so it was really due for a change. Besides, Clio's look funny with viper stripes unless they are 'Cup' models! |
My 'Fun Car' This is my pride and joy (in addition to the Fiesta) which is kept in the garage for special occasions! Ever since I passed my learner dirving test in 1998 I've wanted one of these, but they finished production before I could save up the cash to have one brand new. There's a fair bit of work planned on her, such as the Mini Sport wheel arches, a full leather interior and a new Union Jack flag on the roof to top it off! Unfortunately I'm sure there will always be a bit of 'rust prevention' work that will need doing, hence why she lives in the garage, but she's beautiful and I love her! |
This is the car I've done most miles in EVER! My first brand-new car - a truly excellent all-rounder. She was a 1.4tdci Ford Fiesta Zetec Climate. I specified the red dashboard and climate control and was lucky enough to get an offer from Ford that meant I got the blacked out rear windows and 16" alloys free of charge too. This car has seen many, many learners and had many, many happy memories for people who have passed - even featuring in the Melton Times after the incredible 'two clean sheet passes in one day' effort by two of my pupils! 'ooo-moo' (the registration ended in UMU!) as I called her will be missed, but it was time to move into something new again (with a bit more go this time, a 1.6 rather than a 1.4!) |
